One tonne of CO₂ avoided or stored by a labelled French project, calculated against what would have happened without the project. The methods are approved by the French ministry for ecology, and each project is reviewed by its services before being labelled.

The tonnes the project should avoid or store according to its method’s calculation. They become verified credits after an independent audit, usually after 5 years. In forests, part of the credits is anticipated; in field crops, only reductions actually achieved are counted.

Yes: you can present your funding as offsetting part of your emissions, or as a contribution. Environmental claims in advertising are regulated by French law (article L229-68 of the Environment Code): we help you word your messages accurately.

The ESRS E1 standard requires carbon credits funded outside your value chain to be reported separately from your emissions, without deducting them (disclosure E1-7). The documents in your contributor space (contracts, attestations, project reports) serve as evidence.

They are held in trust, an estate separate from Stock CO2’s own, and paid to project owners stage by stage: up to 9 years for a forest project, 5 years for a farming project.
