Carbon Agri for a farm with a cattle or field-crop unit, assessed as a whole; Field crops for a field-crop unit; SOBAC’ECO-TMM for reducing purchased inputs, whatever the crop production; Hedgerows for planting and managing your hedges; Orchard planting for a new orchard. 5 years, renewable, for Carbon Agri, Field crops and SOBAC’ECO-TMM; 5 years renewable twice, i.e. 15 years, for hedgerows; 20 years for an orchard, with an audit after 5 years.

Greenhouse gas emissions avoided or reduced (nitrogen fertiliser, energy, herd feeding…) and, depending on the method, additional carbon stored in soils, hedges or trees. One carbon credit equals one tonne of CO₂, calculated against a baseline scenario without the project.

It depends on the method. For hedgerows, any planting or maintenance grant remains compatible, but hedges under an agri-environment contract (Linea measures 01, 02, 03 and 09) are excluded from the project. In field crops, if grants already fund a lever, you must show they are not enough; otherwise a 20% discount applies to that lever’s reductions.

SOBAC’ECO-TMM accepts organic farms. A conversion started during the project, however, leads to a 20% discount on emission reductions. The other methods have their own rules: we check them with you.

For Carbon Agri, the farm is assessed with the CAP’2ER level 2 tool or a recognised equivalent; for hedgerows, the sustainable management plan is drawn up by an approved adviser. We organise the assessment with your advisory body.

An independent auditor, qualified according to the method’s criteria, verifies the project at its end, usually after 5 years. The authorities then recognise the emission reductions, which can be transferred to funders on the Label Bas-Carbone register.

The money from the companies funding your project is held in trust, then paid to you as the project reaches its stages.
